System Description 

The Xunda T700 is a cold applied coating system designed for the corrosion protection water, oil gas underground or aboveground pipelines, protecting insulation coatings ,UV resistance and waterproofing for the windows,roofs ,wall and other building joints. The T700 consists of a aluminum foil or aluminum-polyester backing laminated with  butyl rubber .

Application Instructions                                                                                                        

• The butyl tape can also be used for outdoor applications and is resistant to rain and all other weather conditions (not suitable for use under water).

  Compatible with Plexiglas and Macrolon

  The butyl tape can be used for sealing in conservatories and greenhouses without the fear of stress cracks forming (tested by Röhm).

  Excellent adhesion to absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces.

  Can be used on all surfaces found in the construction field, e.g. steel, aluminium, glass, plastic, wood, concrete, masonry, bitumen etc.

  Butyl tapes are self-fusing

  The tape is fully functional immediately after application and meets all the required properties.

  Vapour diffusion-proof

  The butyl tape enables waterproof sealing and prevents the penetration of moisture into the building.

• The surfaces to be sealed must be dry, capable of bearing load and free from grease and dust.
• The processing temperature should not be below +10°C.
• Absorbent and porous surfaces must be pre-treated with Würth butyl/bitumen primer.
• To obtain good initial adhesion to the surface, the tape should be pressed onto the surface and smoothed using a press-on roller or a similar tool.
• Butyl has a "cold flow" tendency (flow characteristic of the tape). Therefore, the tape should always be fitted with a press-on profile to prevent the seal from slipping as a result of, for example, the weight of snow or backed-up water. If the tape is fitted or repaired without a press-on profile, there is a risk that the sealing tape may slip.
• When using a press-on profile, the profile manufacturer's specifications regarding the width of the butyl tape must be observed.
• Using excessive contact pressure on the profile will cause the sealing compound to be "pushed out". Never compress the butyl tape to the zero point (use the supplied disc as a spacer).
• When sealing glass retainer profiles, the rubber profile may not lie on the sealing tape. The width of the butyl tape must be selected such that the tape is located between the rubber profiles.
